Patience Moore, LCSW

As a trained, licensed therapist, I am a committed partner and a gentle guide for you and your child through this process of understanding and feeling better. With understanding, proven techniques and the combined wisdom of all involved, we explore what is happening in your child’s life and heart. I will listen to your feelings and concerns as parents and appreciate the strengths of your child.

My sessions with kids are fun, playful, engaging, and get results.  I have a good track record of connecting with and earning the trust of teens as well. Helping children and teens to name and accept their feelings and needs, and to understand what is causing them can

increase self-confidence, decrease anxiety, and

enhance family communication and connection.

Em Leskinen, PhD, LSW

I am a queer clinician who works with teens and adults across a range of identities and experiences, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ clients, including trans and nonbinary people. I also work with people whose relationships and ways of building family take many forms, including monogamous and nonmonogamous relationships. I draw on my clients’ strengths and aim to create space for curiosity, self-reflection, and conversations that may be difficult to have elsewhere.

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and collaborative. Together, we explore how past experiences, relationships, and the world around you may shape your present, while also making room for practical support when helpful. Rather than assuming there is one right way to live, relate, identify, or heal, I seek to understand what matters to each client and let that guide our work.

In addition to my clinical work, I teach, write, and conduct research focused on LGBTQ+ issues and social inequality. My earlier experience includes rape crisis counseling, working with adolescents experiencing anxiety, and providing case management to adults navigating long-term care. These experiences continue to shape how I think about care, identity, and the systems people navigate.

I earned my MSW in 2007 and hold a PhD in Psychology, both from the University of Michigan.
